The tanks in the oil and chemical tankers can be full or empty in many different measures. All the oil products develop gasses and vapours according to their composition and temperature. These gasses and vapours accumulate in the higher part of the containers and can produce, when there are oxygen concentrations and triggers, combustions and explosions. From that, three types of adequate safety systems follow:Prevent the formation of gas and vapours: they form at the atmosphere pressure, so if there is a higher gas pressure in the container they cannot develop.

Prevent oxygen pressure formation: this is what prevents oil gasses from burning also in presence of a trigger. The oil and chemical tankers are equipped on board with an autonomous system for the production and the use of the inert gas. Our membrane Nitrogen Generators ISOSEP MISTRAL is able to satisfy the strict requirements for the ship of this products with purities up to 99,5% and dew points of -70 ° C.
