Nitrogen is an inert gas, a gaseous mixture containing a small percentage of oxygen. Its name originates from the property of impeding the combustion reactions.

In the Chemical and Petrochemical Industry it is used for the inertization of the fuel containers, in the process of oil and gas wells perforation, for the oil pipelines and gas pipelines maintenance and it is used to impede the development of gasses and vapours capable of producing combustions or explosions as it does not contain enough oxygen to sustain the reaction.

The Nitrogen, inexpensively produced on-site through the Nitrogen Generators PSA NIMOS or Membrane one ISOSEP MISTRAL, also helps to protect the piping from the corrosion.
